London: Weekly traffic update
Regent Street Christmas lights switch on From 16:00 until 21:00 today, Thursday, Regent Street, between Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus, and all its approaches will be closed. From 11:00 until 21:00, there will be a lane closure in each direction between Vigo Street and Beak Street. Traffic will be permitted to use the bus lane during this period. Winter Wonderland From 17:00 on Friday 17 November until 22:00 on 01 January 2018, roads within Hyde Park including South Carriage Drive and North Carriage Drive will be closed. A temporary taxi rank will be available in coach bays opposite Upper Brook Street; these are the same arrangements as last year. International Rugby From 11:30 until 00:00 on Saturday 18 November, roads around Twickenham Stadium will be busier than usual including A316 Chertsey Road. There will also be closures and diversions on London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road. Regent Street Toy Parade From 03:00 until 22:00 on Sunday 19 November, there will be various road closures on Regent Street between Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus and New Burlington Street. Central London From 07:30 until 22:00 on Sunday 19 November, there will be road closures in Whitehall between Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square, and the St James's Park Area. This is for an event. Printworks On Saturday 18 November there will be a marshalled taxi rank in operation.
Access to Blackwall Tunnel bus lanes for taxis Taxis can use the southbound Blackwall Tunnel bus lane between 9pm and 5am. Taxis cannot use the northbound Blackwall Tunnel bus lane. A101 Rotherhithe Tunnel: overnight closures
Planned closure of the tunnel, to carry out essential investigation works and test safety systems, will occur between 22:00 and 05:00 during the following nights:
• Monday 13 November - Friday 17 November • Monday 20 November - Friday 24 November • Monday 27 November - Friday 1 December • Monday 4 December - Friday 8 December Westminster Bridge South – Carriageway resurfacing
A series of temporary overnight closures are needed to facilitate the carriageway resurfacing from Monday 13 to Tuesday 21 November between 21:00 and 05:00:
• From Thursday 16 November to Tuesday 21 November, there will be no access to Waterloo from Westminster via Westminster Bridge. The York Road Slip Road will be closed
