Uber's Sheffield suspension lifted

As we reported earlier this month, Uber's Sheffield licence had been suspended after it failed to respond to requests by the city's licensing authority.

Today, Wednesday 13 December, the Daily Star have reported a lift on the ban, stating the council have received "satisfactory answers" to their concerns, allowing Uber to continue working into the new year.

Sheffield City Council will now consider a new licence application submitted by Uber. The council said in a statement: "The new application, made by Uber in October, to operate private hire cars in Sheffield is being considered and a decision will be made in early 2018,"
