Elderly man hit by cyclist left with possible 'life-changing' injuries

An elderly man walking in Kensington was hit by a cyclist leaving him with possible 'life-changing' injuries.  The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the accident after reports of a collision involving an 85 year old man and a cyclist on Kensington Church Street just after midday on Saturday.

The ambulance team saw to the cyclists minor injuries which included cuts and bruises. The pensioner was however taken to a local hospital and is believed to have sustained non life-threatening, but may have life-changing injuries according police sources.

This latest crash adds further weight behind the arguement that cyclists should be open to offences like dangerous driving just like other road users.

In a current poll by LBC radio station, 92% of people think cyclists should be open to prosecution for dangerous cycling.
