Sony ready to join ride-hailing wars

Japan's Sony Corp are ready to join the battle of the ride-hailing Apps, forming an alliance with a number of partners including Daiwa Motor Transportation, Hinomaru Katsura, Kokusai Motorcars, Green Cab and the Checker Cab group, Reuters reported. Collectively the partnership will see approximately 10,000 vehicles join forces to serve the public mainly in the Tokyo area. The platform is said to be powered by artificial intelligence technology, which will ensure that vehicles will be available in certain locations at their highest demand. According to Research and Markets, the global ridesharing market could be worth around £200 billion by 2025. With projected figures like that, you can see why Sony want a piece of the action.
