LEVC have announced the expansion of its TX dealer network with Ascott Cab Company becoming the first independent retailer of the new electric taxi. Ascott Cab Company are a leading taxi retailer in London and are South London’s largest independent taxi dealer. The business is the first independent retailer to make the move to selling range-extended electric taxis in London. Andy Ascott from Ascott Cab Company said: “We are delighted to have been appointed as the first independent UK dealer for the TX, and we are pleased to have our first demonstrator in our new showroom area. We have already started offering extended test drives in the cab and the feedback has been extremely positive so far.”
The repair centre and retailer was started in South London in 1980 by Mickey Ascott – and it changed its name to Ascott Cab Company in 1991. Their forward-looking attitude has seen this family firm grow into one of the largest independent repairers and retailers in London. It is now the largest taxi service business in South London and employs over 70 people. The company has again demonstrated its status as a leading taxi retailer by investing time and effort into making the transition to electric vehicles. A new showroom area has been constructed to display the TX and extended test drives can now be booked. In addition, two master technicians have undergone extensive training on the new electric vehicle and other members of the team will join the training programme shortly. Richard Gordon, Commercial Director of LEVC said: “Ascott Cab Company has always been one of our most important partners in London, and we were delighted when they committed to selling the TX, London’s advanced electric taxi. They are one of London’s busiest retailers and by having demonstration vehicles in their showroom, we can run test drives with drivers across the capital.”
