London: Weekly roads and event updates
Waterloo Station From 20:00 on Friday 2 until 20:00 on Sunday 4 March, Station Approach Road will be closed to all vehicles. This is for a crane operation. Taxis to use Spur Road for access and egress to the taxi rank. Blackwall Tunnel Taxis can use the southbound Blackwall Tunnel bus lane between 9pm and 5am. Taxis cannot use the northbound Blackwall Tunnel bus lane. Liverpool Road Taxi drivers, please be careful when using the Liverpool Road rank (number 5720). We have had complaints from pedestrians about drivers mounting the kerb. South London Until 18:00 on Thursday 22 March, Lewisham High Street at the junction of Limes Grove is closed to facilitate bus shelter works. Central London Until 20:00 on Sunday 24 April Commercial Road (Eastbound) between New Road and Sidney Street will have lane closures and temporary traffic lights to facilitate gas main replacement works. New Road is closed southbound until 18th March. Central London Until mid-March, London Bridge will be closed northbound on weekdays only, while Cadent (formerly National Grid Gas) carry out emergency gas works on nearby Gracechurch Street. This restriction does not apply to local buses, taxis (black cabs), cycles and pedestrians. Private hire vehicles - please use Blackfriars Bridge or Tower Bridge to cross the river. Rotherhithe Tunnel Vehicles more than two metres (six foot six inches) wide are not permitted through the tunnel. This is to ensure safety and reduce the risk of collisions. All London licensed taxis (black cabs) can use the tunnel. Drivers restricted from using the tunnel should use Tower Bridge or the Blackwall Tunnel - both of which are outside of the Congestion Charge.Â
Printworks From 18:00 until 23:00 on Thursday 1 and from 12:00 until 23:00 on Saturday 3 March there will be a marshalled taxi rank in operation. Wembley From 12:00 until 19:00 on Saturday 3 March roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is for an event. The Vitality Big Half From 07:00 until 15:00 on Sunday 4 March, a number of taxi ranks will be affected due to road closures for this event. Central London From 11:30 until 15:30 on Sunday 4 March, there will be road closures on Millbank, Trafalgar Square via Parliament Square and Whitehall. This is due to a march.
