Uber agree to settle a class action lawsuit worth nearly £8 million

Uber has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit in America for almost £8 million. The lawsuit was filed by three female software engineers last year claiming discriminatory practices within the work place. The class action lawsuit represented 420 engineers who were either women or people of colour, a report in recode said. Uber has also agreed to enhance its systems for compensations and reviews and to regularly report diversity metrics. A judge still has to determine whether to accept the terms of the settlement, but if it is agreed, this will be one less problem for Uber and it's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi to worry about.
