Russian taxi drivers attack Yandex offices over fees increase

Irate Russian taxi drivers showed their anger towards ride-hailing app Yandex in Moscow this week as the firm raised driver fees to 30%.

Yandex, Russia’s biggest car service who recently merged with Uber, brought in the new commission fees back in March which pushed many drivers to boycott the app. 

Video footage and photos were placed on social media showing a smoke bomb activated at the offices of Yandex. According to one source, The Moscow Times, leaflets were disturbuted in the area saying “Yandex.Taxi are bloodsuckers! Taxi drivers aren’t sheep!”
