The incident between the taxi driver and the Uber driver, which took place on July 25th and sparked the subsequent protest took place in the Yalikavak district of Bodrum.
The blockade was eventually lifted after 45 minutes, when Bodrum Chamber of Drivers chair Hasan Kablı spoke to angry drivers, and persuaded them that blocking the road was not a solition to the problems surrounding Uber.
On June 1st, Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan effectively ended Uber's operation in Turkey, although despite being all but driven out of Istanbul, they are still operating in some holiday resorts, with around 1000 still operating in Bodrum.
