Basildon taxi driver robbed at knife point for “two figure sum”
A taxi driver in Basildon was robbed at knife point for a two figure sum of cash on Tuesday according to police sources. A police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly after 9.30pm on Tuesday, October 2 to reports of a robbery in Basildon.
"The victim, a taxi driver, reported he had collected two men from Exeter Close and had travelled to Avon Way.
"The victim was then threatened with a knife and a two-figure sum of cash was taken before the men made off on foot."
The driver’s taxi operator, AB Taxis, put up a cash reward of £1,000 for anyone with any information that leads to an arrest.
