Manchester United fan has emergency surgery after being knifed by Parisian cabbie
A Manchester United fan has had to undergo emergency surgery after being stabbed in the chest by a Parisian taxi driver following Wednesday night's Champions League match against Paris St Germain
The unnamed 44-year-old man was travelling back to the French capital with three other supporters when the driver turned on them after they started singing in celebration of United's win against PSG.
It was reported by Sky Sports News that the cab driver pulled over in a bid to eject them from the cab, before pulling out a knife and threatening a female passenger in the group.
The victim then tried to protect the woman, however the driver then stabbed the man in the chest.
As the injured man was left lying on the pavement, one of the group managed to flag down a car and the victim was then taken to hospital. The victim then underwent surgery to remove blood on his lung. Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with the attack, no weapon has been found as yet.
