Uber's UK general manager Tom Elvidge leaves post after five years
It has been revealed in The Metro that Uber's general manager for the UK and Ireland has left his post to become the new Chief Operating Officer for Europe of tech workspace company We Work.
Elvidge will be replacing We Work's current Chief Operating Officer for Europe, Anthony Yazbeck, who will become the COO of We Work International.
Tom Elvidge was first hired by the ride-hailing giant in 2014. His initial remit was to oversee the launch of the app in Leeds.
He then managed Uber in the North East of England, overseeing Uber's launch in four other cities, before being offered the role of Ubers general manager in London after only a year at the company,
Elvidge's initial appontment at Uber followed nine years of working in management consulting and investment banking at Accenture and Goldman Sachs. Tom Elvidge's move away from Uber comes amid continuing disputes over the company's operating in London.
