TfL launch consultation on new cycle route through West London

Steve Kenton

Transport for London have launched a consultation on a new cycle route which will link Notting Hill to Wood Lane in Shepherds Bush.

TfL launched the Consultation on the cycle route on Wednesday, May 1, which includes plans to improve pedestrian access.

Construction of the route will connect to a 2.2-mile segregated cycle lane from Acton and Wood Lane via Western Avenue, which is due for completion later this year. This will create a 4.6-mile continuous route.

To facilitate improved traffic control, a number of side roads along the new route will become entry or exit only.

According to TfL, the new route forms part of London Mayor Sadiq Khan ’s aim “to encourage the public tp walk, cycle and use public transport.

Another new cycle route between Brentford and Kensington Olympia will start later this year, also with a connection to the Notting Hill-to-Action cycle route via Norland Square in Holland Park.
