Three teens charged with horrific attack which left Taxi driver with a ten per cent chance of surviv
Three teenagers have appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court charged with attacking a Derby taxi driver in an incident which left him with horrific head injuries and fighting for his life. Taxi driver Faisal Raja was allegedly set upon by Keenan Carter, 18, and two youths aged 17 and 16 during the early hours of November 25.
Carter, of HMP Nottingham and the two teens, who's identities are both protected by law, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court where their case was sent to Derby Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on May 28. As reported by the Derbyshire Live, Carter was remanded into custody while the other two defendants were handed unconditional bail.
All three of them have been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Faisal Raja, 37, was set upon in Morledge, Derby, in the early hours of 25 November, while on his way to collect food from a takeaway. Raja sustained serious injuries caused during the brutal attack and now faces a long road to recovery. He was put in an induced coma and doctors gave him just a 10% chance of survival.
