Uber partner with ICC for Cricket World Cup in England and Wales

It's been revealed by Business Standard that Uber are to partner with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the men’s world cup in England and Wales.

The world cup, which will be held from 30 May to 14 July, will have an estimated global viewing audience of 1.5 billion.

Uber’s chief international business officer, Brooks Entwistle said: “We’re excited to further our commitment to cricket as a global sport."

There are eight countries participating in the world cup, Brooks Entwistle stated that the partnership would allow people to enjoy the cricket while they supplied mobility and food requirements.

ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said: "Uber’s commitment to cricket was clear during last year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup."

He went on to state that the brand brought to life some of the stories behind the players with the ‘#RoadSheMade’ campaign. He also claimed that Uber has some exciting plans for this summer’s event. Last year Uber supported the first ever ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies. As a part of that partnership, they began the #JerseyKnowsNoGender’ campaign with a number of sports personalities from different fields to encourage women’s participation in sports.
