British Transport Police chase down armed man who attempted to steal a taxi from outside busy statio

A man has been held in custody on suspicion of attempted armed robbery of a taxi, which triggered British Transport Police officers to chase him down on foot.

Mayhem erupted in Bath on Monday 3 May after the alleged attempted armed robbery of a taxi outside of a busy Bath station.

The suspect was believed to be armed with a knife and was thought to have tried to steal a taxi, British Transport Police say.

A tweet from British Transport Police Specials reads: "Following a foot chase in Bath by sergeant James and with the assistance of ASP Bath, a male who was believed to be armed with a knife has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after he attempted to steal a taxi from the station."

It is not yet confirmed whether the incident occurred outside the Bath Spa train station or the bus station. Both are located along the street where the incident was reported.
