Neo-noir taxi driving murder mystery game to be launched on Xbox one
We've all seen those old black and white "film-noir" detective movies, starring a hard-bitten Robert Mitchum or Stanley Baker as a tenacious cop or prime-suspect battling across a grimy city in search of a serial killer. This genre has now been brought into the world of gaming, featuring a taxi driver.
Gaming company Raw Fury, in conjunction with developers Monkey Moon and Black Muffin, have announced that a taxi driving murder mystery game is to be launched on the Xbox One.
The game, which is called Night Call, has been developed using a monochrome effect which is in-keeping with the classic film-noir genre.
According to Xbox Achievements, the game centres around a Parisian taxi driver attempting to track down a serial killer as the police mark you down as their prime suspect, with your character being the last person to see the victim alive.
The game unfolds through the taxi driver's eyes and ears as he listens to stories being told to him by his passengers, with the focus on the cabbie piecing together clues as he attempts to clear his name.
The non-linear storyline features around 70 different characters and promises to be a gritty tale.
Night Call will be coming to the Xbox One as a day one Xbox Game Pass title on 17 July.
