Glasgow private hire driver attempts to ram four colleagues outside nightclub
Police are appealing for witnesses after four private car hire drivers were deliberately driven at outside a nightclub in Partick, Glasgow, on Monday 1 July. Around 2.30 am on Monday 1 July there was an argument between a number of private car hire drivers outside a nightclub on Dumbarton Road near to Thurso Street, Partick, Glasgow.
One of the drivers left the area in his grey Citroen Picasso car heading towards the city centre, however, he appears to have come back and driven at speed towards the men, one of whom was standing on the road. All managed to get away from the car, but have been left shaken by the incident. Detective Sergeant Bernadette Walls, Drumchapel CID, is appealing for information. She said: “Although we have spoken to a number of people who were at the club at the time, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have been driving by – especially if they have dash cams on their car – to see if they have captured the car, which had a South Lanarkshire Council licence plate, in the area at the time of the incident. “Thankfully no one was hurt but it could have had terrible consequences if the car had hit the men, or indeed any of the clubbers or door staff who were about at the time. “If you saw the car incident or the initial argument take place, we would ask that you call Drumchapel CID via 101 quoting reference number 0480 of the 1 July 2019. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
