Billericay cabbie's unexpected extra passenger as baby born in back of cab

A Billericay cabbie got a little bit more than he bargained for when a woman gave birth in the back of his cab.
Ans Shikder, who works for Mayflower Taxis, picked up the unnamed woman and her partner and was asked to drive them to Basildon Hospital after the woman went into labour.
However, as the driver made his way along Noak Hill Road, the baby started to arrive.
Quick-thinking Ans immediately called the emergency services, and was assisted by phone as an ambulance made its way to their location. However, baby wouldn't wait and decided to make its first appeance in the back of the cab.
The shocked cabbie jokingly bemoaned the fact that he was neither paid for the fare nor the clean-up bill.
Echo News reported that mother and baby, a little boy, are doing well, while Ans was roundly congratulated.
