London taxi industry sees new theatre venue opening

Steve Kenton

Taxi drivers are about to see a new venue on London's map, as a new theatre prepares to open its doors.

The 200 seat Turbine Theatre, which is situated next to Battersea Power Station, will be opening to the public in August.

According to Go London, the theatre will be run by Paul Taylor-Mills who previously ran The Other Place Theatre in Victoria.

The theatre's first production will see Taylor-Mills team up with acclaimed choreographer Drew McOnieto with a revival of Torch Song.

The Turbine Theatre becomes the latest in a series of new venues opening in London, which includes the Soho Boulevard Theatre, scheduled to open in October as well as the Troubadour Wembley Park which is scheduled to open in July.
