City of London Corporation to slap restrictions on rush hour cycle tours after spate of accidents
The City of London Corporation are to place restrictions on cycle tours during rush hour after a spate of cycle accidents within the square mile.
The new code of conduct will see cycle tour groups being required to dismount in certain streets during prescribed hours.
Restricted hours will be between 12-2pm amd 4-6pm and at any other time where the streets are deemed as busy with pedestrians.
The move comes after reports of a number of cyclists colliding with residents.
It is alleged that cycle tour convoys have been seen to travel at speed and crossing roads at unsafe points.
The Evening Standard have reported that tour groups have agreed to adhere to the code laid down by the City of London Corporation.
