Quick thinking paramedics tackle taxi blaze saving vehicle from complete wreckage
Paramedics saved the day when a Blackpool taxi caught fire on the seafront Promenade over the weekend.
An ambulance crew who were passing when the taxi became ablaze, sprung into action, whipping out their fire extinguisher to tackle the flames while the fire brigade made their way to the scene.
The incident happened at around 3.30am, on the Promenade near the Metropole Hotel, Fleetwood Today reported.
A fire brigade spokesman said their swift action prevented the blaze from badly damaging the taxi. They added: "Thanks to them it was only a small fire in the end. "We were just needed to damp things down."
Fortunately no one was injured during the incident.
