Explosions from Scottish taxi yard “shook” nearby houses

Explosions have shaken nearby houses at a fire in a taxi yard in Fife. Firefighters are battling a major fire at a taxi yard owned by Cowdenbeath Taxi Services in Fife.
Seven fire appliances have been sent to the scene of the fire according to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
According to witnesses on social media, explosions were heard, some claiming them to be taxis, during the fire which started today at 8am on the Woodend Industrial Estate. A resident nearby the yard said: “The first explosion shook my house.” Other residents claim to have heard further smaller bangs and explosions from the scene. A spokesperson from Cowdenbeath Taxi Services said: “As most will know we have had a fire in our yard this morning. All our staff are ok and safe. “We are still out working from a remote location and will continue to offer the same service as much as possible. Thanks for all the messages of concern.”
