Ride-hailing firm Ola have completed over one million rides in their first year on British soil.
According to the operator, since the company launched in the UK almost one year ago, 22% of all rides are taken in Cardiff.
Ola launched its British operation in the Welsh capital last August, more than 21,000 people in the city have downloaded the app and have taken a combined total of more than 221,000 rides around the city.
The company originating from India currently operates in Cardiff, Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Liverpool, Reading and Birmingham, and will be launching in London later this year.
To mark their first anniversary in the city, Ola are offering customers 30% off all rides for the month of August.
Ben Legg, Managing Director of Ola UK, said: “We are really proud of what we have achieved with our partners in Cardiff over the past year. After the Cardiff launch 12 months ago, we now operate in seven British cities and have already completed over a million rides, with a large proportion of those being in the Welsh capital. “The city has been incredibly welcoming, helping us to develop a fantastic driver-base whose commitment and enthusiasm for providing the best possible service has enabled us to connect with passengers right across South Wales. “We are excited about the progress we’ve made so far and are working hard to ensure the driver and passenger experience continues for many more years to come, and as a birthday present from us to Cardiff, all rides in August will have 30% off.”
