Police taser driver during road rage attack in Central London involving minicab
Police tasered a driver during a road rage attack in Central London involving a private hire vehicle. Officers were called at approximately 20:15hrs on Sunday 11 August to reports of a woman injured in a collision with a car in Hyde Park Corner, SW1.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and a woman, in her mid-40s, was taken to a central London hospital for treatment; her condition has been assessed as non life-threatening but may be life-changing. Officers are investigating an allegation that a Land Rover was deliberately driven at the woman, trapping her against a Mercedes private hire vehicle. This Mercedes was then in collision with a stationary bus, there were no reports of anyone injured on the bus. A 23-year-old man, the suspected driver of the Land Rover, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray; a Taser was discharged by officers during the arrest. The arrested man did not require hospital treatment and was taken into custody, he was later further arrested on suspicion of GBH and driving whilst disqualified. He remains in custody at a central London police station. A second man, who complained of feeling unwell at the scene, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A witness, @_deepakanand (Twitter), at the scene captured the incident saying “Absolutely ridiculous accident! Was a horrible scene for my wife and son to have witnessed!”
