Perry Richardson

Police who tasered a man during a road rage attack in Central London, has been charged. Ade Thompson, 23, was charged on Monday 12 August with driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and possession of class B drugs.

Officers were called at approximately 20:15hrs on Sunday 11 August to reports of a woman injured in a collision with a car in Hyde Park Corner, SW1.  Police officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and a woman, aged 47, was taken to a central London hospital for treatment; her condition has been assessed as non life-threatening but may be life-changing. Officers are investigating an allegation that a Land Rover was deliberately driven at the woman, trapping her against a Mercedes private hire vehicle. This Mercedes minicab was then in collision with a stationary bus, there were no reports of anyone injured on the bus. Ade Thompson, the suspected driver of the Land Rover, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray; a Taser was discharged by officers during the arrest. Thompson was later charged and enquires remain ongoing into the incident which occurred in Hyde Park Corner. Police are asking any witnesses, anyone with dashcam footage, or anyone with any information to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC. Please quote Cad 6953/11Aug.
