London private hire driver fined and disqualified from driving for plying for hire and no insurance

A private hire driver has been fined and disqualified from driving for a month after pleading guilty at court today. The unnamed minicab driver was found guilty for plying for hire, accepting a booking without an operator’s licence and no insurance.
The driver was told to pay a total fine of £1,300, plus a further £80 victim surcharge imposed by the courts. The minicab driver was also disqualified from driving for a month.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Roads and Transport broke the news as part of its #CabsUnit operation in the capital.
