New Nissan taxi given the green light to operate in London

The first 100% electric and emission free taxi has received the go ahead to start operating in London. According to sources, the Nissan Dynamo taxi has now been registered with transport regulators, Transport for London. The vehicle is set for release on to the roads in September.
Its launch will offer the industry an alternative choice for the first time since the start of the electric revolution back in January 2018.
Over 2,500 electric LEVC TXE taxis have been sold so far. More than 2,000 of those are working in the capital. The Dynamo All Electric Taxi, built in Coventry by Dynamo Motor Company, is based on a Nissan e NV 200 Evalia and can carry 5 passengers. The price of the taxi is confirmed as £47,995 after government subsidies/grants. Dynamo says it will cost less than £30 per week on electricity and will become the most cost effective taxi in the UK. Drivers can currently view the taxi at their new London dealership. The much anticipated wait to view the Nissan Dynamo ended on 17 June when their London showroom opened in Colindale, NW9.
