A spokeswoman for Police Scotland added: "Two men aged 20 and 21 have been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Vicarfield Street, Govan. "A man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he received treatment."
The Crown Office confirmed that two men appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday. They made no plea and were remanded in custody pending another court date.
According to a report in the Daily Record, medics said it would be several weeks before Mr Javed would be able to work again.
