Aylesbury Vale Police along with licensing officers from the council's licensing team spent Saturday evening ensuring that the taxi drivers of Aylesbury town were complying with the conditions of their licence. The police force confirmed two drivers had their licences suspended on the spot for having unsafe vehicles.
A number of others were issued points to their taxi licences for issues like not wearing their ID badge. Others have also had their details taken and will be brought in for questioning by the licensing officers at a later date as to why they were working outside of the set regulations. Numerous tickets were also issued for headlights, seatbelts and careless driving, all of which the drivers could receive points on their driving licence. In other news, whilst the officers were going about their duties they also managed to locate a wanted person. The individual had been evading the Police for some time but a good spot by some eagle eyes means he is now in custody on suspicion of breaching a non-molestation order.
