Dual taxi licence holder has renewal application approved despite motoring offences
A female dual hackney carriage and private hire driver has had her licence renewed by Powys Council despite motoring offences. During a meeting which took place on 23 August between the Taxi Licensing committee members, the applicant known as “YCS” who was accompanied by a relative, explained the circumstances surrounding the motoring and other offences recorded against her.
The motoring offences were not made public.
Councillor Linda Corfield chaired the meeting and was accompanied by the sub-committee which included Cllrs David Selby (Liberal Democrat – Newtown Central) and Elwyn Vaughan (Plaid Cymru – Glantwymyn).
Five references of the applicant’s good character were presented to the committee during the meeting.
The committee made the decision to renew the licence of YCS giving the reason that they considered them to be a “fit and proper person” to hold a dual licence.
YCS was given a warning about further offences.
