Didi Chuxing, also known as “DiDi”, today announced that its English language interface in China, DiDi English (DiDi EN), has been used by more than 2 million users across 430 cities in China over the past two years.
Since its launch in 2017, DiDi EN has grown 16 times in terms of total user volume, driven largely by an estimated 1million plus expats working and living in China.
According the ride-hailing service, more than half of DiDi EN’s users are concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. The top five cities with the most DiDi EN users are Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu. In the past two years, DiDi EN users have traveled over 360 million kilometers, the equivalent of 937 trips between the earth and moon.
DiDi partners with fellow ride-hailing firms Grab, Lyft, Ola, 99 and Bolt (Taxify) in a global network. Currently, DiDi provides ride-hailing services in Brazil under the 99 brand, operates DiDi-branded mobility services in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Australia, and provides taxi-hailing service in Japan through a joint venture.
