Collision involving taxi and pedestrian leaves elderly woman in serious condition


Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a taxi and elderly pedestrian in Aberdeen. The incident took place on Provost Watt Drive near to the junction with Faulds Row at 12.35pm Wednesday 2 October.

The collision involved a blue Ford Tourneo taxi and a female pedestrian. The 85 year old female pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she remains in a serious condition. The driver of the taxi was uninjured.

The road remained closed for over five hours while Police carried out their investigations.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle or the female pedestrian beforehand is urged to contact Police Scotland.
