Police search for one man after taxi driver assault and two others arrested and charged for separate

Two men have been charged in connection with the robbery of a taxi driver in West Street, Fareham. Gary Crawley, 31, of Queens Road, Fareham and Ryan Keen, 25, of no fixed abode, are charged with the offence at West Street on 30 September.

They have been remanded in custody to appear before Portsmouth Crown Court on 4 November. A 23 year old woman from Fareham was also arrested and released under investigation.

The news came just hours before Hampshire Constabulary issued an appeal to find a man they want to speak to after a taxi driver was assaulted in Aldershot.

The incident happened at around 1.30am on Saturday 28 September. The driver, a 41-year-old man, picked up his passenger in Guildford and drove him to Station Road, Aldershot where he stopped the car in a layby.

The passenger, who had already paid his fare before leaving Guildford, then demanded a refund. When the driver refused, the passenger assaulted him. The victim suffered a number of injuries to his face, hand and ribs. Substantial damage was also caused to the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Hampshire Constabulary on 101 quoting 44190346281.
