Taxi driver allegedly headbutted punched and robbed by passenger

Officers investigating an assault of a taxi driver and theft in Leicester would like to speak to the man pictured. They were called to Aikman Avenue, near Kay Road, at around 7.30am on Friday 27 September.
It was reported a male taxi driver had been punched a number of times by a man who had been a passenger of the taxi. It was also reported the man had headbutted the taxi driver during the attack causing him to fall to the ground. A wallet containing cash was stolen from the taxi during the incident. The suspect was seen to leave the area following the assault heading towards Glengarry Way.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital by ambulance where he received treatment. He was discharged later the same day. Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident.
