A tout who was prohibited from entering Heathrow Airport after illegally offering taxi services was arrested by eagle eyed police officers after being spotted within the airport's perimeter.

The driver of the blue Toyota car had previously been caught acting like a taxi service and was handed a ban as part of Heathrow bylaws.

Only licensed taxis can pick up passengers without a booking. Unbooked taxi journeys can only be made from official taxi ranks at each airport terminal.

Yesterday the same driver was spotted by police officers who promptly seized the vehicle and arrested the driver.

The driver also had no insurance for the vehicle.

A Heathrow Aviation Policing spokesperson said via social media: “Our dedicated Traffic Team are here 24/7 keeping the roads in and around Heathrow safe.

“A taxi tout who was prohibited from entering the airport was stopped yesterday. Arrested & reported for driving otherwise in accordance and for no insurance.

“Seized. Heathrow Bylaws.”
