Acorn Group named among UK’s top workplaces in Super Large Company ranking

Formby-headquartered Acorn Group has been named the 25th best place to work in the UK in the Super Large Company category, adding a people and culture milestone to the insurer’s standing in specialist motor and household markets.
The recognition came through Great Place To Work and places the business among the country’s highest-rated major employers. For a company operating at scale across non-standard car, van, taxi and household insurance, the ranking points to the growing importance of staff retention, training and workplace culture in supporting specialist underwriting and customer service operations.
Acorn Group said the certification reflected its long-running focus on a people-first working environment and its commitment to putting colleagues at the centre of the business. The ranking was based on feedback from 88% of employees, a response level that gives the result added weight for employers of Acorn’s size.
The group employs more than 1,800 people and serves over 500,000 live policyholders across a range of specialist brands including Acorn Insurance, Carrot, Motorcade, Flag, Rapid, Briefly and Street Cover, alongside Granite Underwriting.
Formby insurer, which covers non-standard car, van, taxi and household risks, placed 25th in Great Place To Work’s UK ranking after employee feedback highlighted support, inclusion and development.
