ALBERT BRIDGE SHUTS FOR MAINTENANCE: Diversions in place for taxi drivers and other London motorists

Albert Bridge will be out of bounds for all vehicle traffic from early Tuesday 28 May, until the morning of Saturday 1 June.

Motorists will need to reroute via Chelsea Bridge and Battersea Bridge during this period.

The closure facilitates critical repairs to the carriageway's deck panels, as stated by local authorities. This maintenance is seen as vital for ensuring the long-term usability and safety of the bridge.

Drivers are being advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time for travel due to the expected increase in traffic on the alternative routes. Regular updates on the progress of the works will be available to assist commuters.

Local officials are urging motorists to adhere to the diversion signs and cooperate to minimise disruptions. Public transport users should also check updates as bus routes may be affected.
