Taxi and private hire drivers licensed with Angus Council will now get an additional £2,500 financial support grant, on top of the initial £1,500 from the first grant made available, making the total amount paid to each driver £4,000.

Any driver who was eligible for the first grant will automatically be topped up with the second payment.

A spokesperson for the council said: “Taxi and Private Hire Driver Support Fund update – anyone in receipt of payment from this fund will now get a £2,500 top up bringing their total payment to £4,000.

“You do not need to contact us to receive this top up payment - it will be paid automatically, no later than 17 April, with no need to re-apply.“

Anyone who was eligible to receive this fund and who missed the deadline for applications can now apply to the Discretionary Fund instead.

The application form for this fund can be found on the council’s website. Note this only applies if you did not previously receive a payment from the Taxi and Private Hire Driver Support Fund.
