A London taxi driver was left star struck after picking up Hollywood A-lister Russell Crowe in the capital.

The star of many Box Office hits, including the 2000 epic historical drama directed by Ridley Scott, Gladiator, was spotted in London by a number of cabbies, but Tom was the lucky taxi driver who managed to have the actor in his cab for a ride.

Crowe is reportedly working on a filmed called Rothko, which is about Kate Rothko, the daughter of revered U.S painter Mark Rothko, who is drawn into a protracted legal battle with her father's estate executors and gallery directors, in a fight to honour his legacy.

Possibly Crowe's most famous lines from a movie were when he played Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius. In a scene where he has just been victorious in battle, he turns to the crowd and shouts "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?", well Mr Crowe certainly entertained Tom the cabbie by posing for a selfie with him.

Tom has shared the image across social media and some might say, he himself, looks like he could also hold his own in a Colosseum battle. Thumbs up, or thumbs down?
