Black cab driver faces fine and points after engaging with phone while driving in London

A licensed black cab driver was slapped with a fine and points on their licence after police officers in central London caught the cabbie engaging with their phone whilst driving.


According to City Police Officers who shared details and an image of the incident, the driver of the cab was driving inappropriately with no hands on the steering wheel whilst using their phone.

Police officers warned other drivers to leave their mobile devices alone after the latest incident in the financial district of the capital on Tuesday.


The driver is likely to face a £200 fine and six points on their driver's licence after being reported by police.

City Police Officers said: “This driver thought it was appropriate to drive with both hands of the wheel whilst using his mobile phone.

“Please don't be caught out leave your phone alone whilst driving otherwise it could be you receiving 6 points + £200 fine.”
