Last month Bonnet Electric announced an exclusive taxi drivers' trial offer, this offer gave electric taxi drivers the opportunity to try the Bonnet App free of charge. The exclusive offer credited drivers with 200 KWH of free charging that can be used at a range of on-street charging suppliers including ESB and Shell Recharge.

Due to increased driver interest Bonnet will continue the free trial offer for another 4 weeks. Drivers will need to download the Bonnet App and use promo code TAXIBNT on signup to access the free trial. The trial will allow drivers access to 200 KWH of charging completely free (approx. 8 charges in an LEVC TXE) which can be used at 1,000s of chargers.

The Bonnet App means no need for multiple membership cards or subscriptions and has a range of features to make charging easier for cabbies, including a live map and alerts when chargers become available.

Over 200 taxi drivers have now downloaded the charging app and according to a Bonnet spokesperson the feedback has been positive.

Michael from Bonnet said: “We have received some excellent feedback, drivers are enjoying using the app, telling us that it gives a greater choice of chargers making it easier to find a free one.”

Michael added: “Drivers also like our competitive charging rates, when it comes to charging we believe drivers should not be tied to one supplier and should have as much choice as possible with competitive charging rates.”
