Bourton-on-the-Water residents bemoan dangerous parking antics of a London PHV and other motorists
Residents in one of the Cotswold’s most picturesque villages have bemoaned the dangerous parking antics of private hire vehicles (PHVs) and other motorists visiting the popular tourist hotspot.
Despite multiple parking spots made readily available to visitors in the picture perfect Bourton-on-the-Water, locals are finding more drivers parked up on double-yellow lines making access for pedestrians difficult and in some cases dangerous.
One resident took to social media to share images of a Transport for London (TfL) licensed PHV dangerously parked on one of the main junctions on Mills Bridge and the High Street.
Residents said more should be done to crack down on the rogue drivers and that more enforcement was needed in the area.
Hundreds of parking spaces are available only a few hundred meters from the village centre in Rissington Road Car Park. At peak-time during the summer when thousands of people descend on Bourton-on-the-Water, there are further parking spots open on Station Road and at the Cotswold School.
