Three brothers will take on the 200-mile Coast to Coast walk this June to raise funds for the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans and mark a milestone birthday.
On 16 June, Colin, Tony and David Mills will begin the walk at St Bees in Cumbria, finishing at Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Yorkshire coast. The route, made famous by Alfred Wainwright, passes through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.
The walk will celebrate Tony Mills’ 60th birthday and continues the family’s support for the veteran community. In 2023, Tony and David Mills joined Colin to complete the Hadrian’s Wall Path for the same charity.
The brothers aim to raise awareness of the vital work done by the Taxi Charity, which supports veterans through outings, trips, and practical help from volunteer London taxi drivers.
Their efforts have already drawn public interest in the past and continue to reflect the dedication of individuals raising money to assist former servicemen and women.
Tony Mills said: “The Coast to Coast is one of Britain’s most beautiful long-distance walks.
“We wanted to do something memorable for my birthday, and once again use the opportunity to raise vital funds for the Taxi Charity. We thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time together when we walked Hadrian’s Wall so it was obvious to choose another walking challenge. It’s a privilege to give back to those who’ve served their country, and we hope this walk inspires others to support our incredible veterans.”
