A taxi driver has been robbed for cash by three men in Refrew, police have confirmed.

The 48-year-old victim was sitting in his parked cab in Paisley Road when he was approached by three men, all believed to be in their late teens, at around 1.25am on Sunday 25 October.

One of the men, described as having an athletic build and wearing a grey tracksuit at the time, demanded money from the driver before assaulting him.

The robbers managed to take a two-figure sum of cash from the victim before making off in the direction of Oxford Road.

Officers said the driver was not injured but was left badly shaken by what happened.

The second suspect was wearing a blue tracksuit, while the third was wearing dark jeans and a blue top.

A spokesperson for the police said enquiries are ongoing and CCTV footage is currently being reviewed.

Witnesses and anyone else who has information are asked to call officers on 101.
