Cabbidder has added David Goldring to its Board as a non-executive director as the company moves to accelerate national rollout and deepen its partnerships across the UK taxi and private hire sector.
The appointment, announced on 24 November, brings nearly twenty years of industry experience to the platform during a period of rapid commercial development.
Goldring has held senior roles at several major mobility and ground-transport businesses including Cabfind, CMAC Group, Gett and most recently Take Me Group. His background includes building national operator networks and leading commercial partnerships, placing him among the most experienced figures in the UK’s corporate mobility and managed transport markets.
Cabbidder said Goldring will provide strategic guidance at board level and work closely with the executive team on partnership development and wider commercial planning. His role will include supporting operator engagement as the platform focuses on scaling up its national footprint across long-distance and airport transfer markets.
The fast-expanding taxi booking platform brings in experienced sector leader to support its next phase of national growth.
Founder Matt Young said Goldring’s track record brings valuable operational and sector insight during a critical stage of expansion. Young said: "He understands the challenges and opportunities facing the trade and shares our vision for a fairer, more efficient platform that allows drivers and operators to earn more — without commissions or fees. His experience across companies like Cabfind, CMAC, Gett and Take Me gives him a unique 360-degree view of the industry, which will be invaluable as we scale across the UK."
Goldring said he was joining the Board at an important moment for the company, describing Cabbidder’s model as one that positions operators and drivers at the centre of the commercial relationship. He added: "I'm delighted to be joining the Board at such an exciting stage in the company's growth. Cabbidder's model puts operators and drivers first, creating a level playing field and a sustainable path forward for the industry."
Cabbidder distinguishes itself from app-based aggregators by charging no commission or platform fees, allowing operators to keep the full fare. Passengers submit a single request and receive multiple quotes from licensed taxi and private hire operators. The company positions this as a route to minimise dead mileage while supporting local firms competing for longer-distance and airport bookings.
The appointment also signals that Cabbidder is strengthening its governance structure as it prepares for further expansion and potential funding activity. The company is targeting a larger national presence, supported by partnership growth and deeper collaboration with operators seeking alternatives to commission-based booking platforms.
