Cabbie arrested after passenger called the police over drug-driving concerns in North Devon
A cabbie in North Devon has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a concerned passenger phoned the police.
Officers were deployed and the cabbie was eventually stopped in Bideford, where he was subsequently arrested.
The incident was highlighted on social media by Sgt Steve BJ of the North Devon Roads Policing Unit: “Bideford - North Devon RPU responded to a call from a passenger in a taxi reporting that the driver may be under the influence.
”Roads Policing units have stopped a taxi in Bideford and arrested a male driver on suspicion of Drug Driving.”
It was not confirmed whether the driver holds a hackney carriage taxi licence or a private hire licence.
