A cabbie has been fined and hit with 3 penalty points after officers from Essex Roads Policing Team found them to be operating with two faulty tyres.
The vehicle was stopped in the Harlow area of Essex on Friday 7 May. During an inspection, officers found that one of the front tyres was bald and the other front tyre had a big chunk missing from the wall.
Using their official Twitter account @EPRoadsPolicing, a spokesperson for the force said: "This vehicle stopped today in Harlow with two faulty front tyres.
"To make matters worse, this vehicle happens to be a taxi.
”A simple vehicle check would have saved this driver a £100 fine and 3 penalty points."
Essex Police are yet to confirm whether the driver holds a hackney carriage taxi licence or a private hire driver’s licence.
