CCTV footage released after taxi driver assaulted in Sheffield

Officers investigating the assault of a Sheffield taxi driver are appealing for your help to identify two men they would like to speak to in connection to the incident.


It is reported that on Saturday 10 October, a taxi driver picked up four men. The driver took the men to West Street in Sheffield, arriving around 1am.

Three of the men are then reported to have become violent when the driver asked for payment. The men are then believed to have assaulted the driver within his cab and on West Street when the driver got out of his car.

The victim sustained none life-threatening injuries before managing to get back into his car and call for help.


A 21 year-old man was arrested at the scene by armed officers on suspicion of robbery. He has been released under investigation.

Officers are now keen to speak to the two men in the CCTV images in connection to the assault.
