Police officers in London chased, caught and arrested the occupants of a targeted licensed Private Hire Vehicle (PHV).

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport Command arrested both the driver and a passenger after the minicab licensed by Transport for London (TfL) failed to stop.

As part of a joint operation targeting PHVs, police chased the two occupants of the black Toyota Prius, before catching and arresting them.

According to police sources they were later also charged.

A spokesperson from Met Police Roads and Transport said via social media: “Excellent joint op with #STT, #CabsUnit, and #ProjectServator on #OpAzatten - targeting criminal use of Private Hire Vehicles (PHVs).

“This PHV failed to stop for us, before both driver and passenger made a run for it.

“Chased. Caught and arrested. Charged.”
